Check if your volkswagen shows one or more signs of transmission issues:

• Jerks during acceleration — 6- and 7-speed DSG gearboxes often produce sharp jolts or “kicks” when starting, especially in dry-clutch versions (DQ200). This indicates worn clutch discs or mechatronic problems.
• Slow response when shifting — if during acceleration the gearbox “hesitates” and shifts only at high RPM, it is a sign of worn DSG clutches or faulty valves/solenoids in the mechatronic unit.
• Body vibrations at low gears — strong shuddering during acceleration (especially from 2nd gear) points to uneven engagement of dual clutches or defects in the DSG differential.
• Clicks and knocking when hot — noticeable in stop-and-go traffic on 1st–2nd gear, signaling micro-damage to clutches or bearings inside the gearbox.
• Power loss and limp mode — severe slipping, reduced performance, “Check Engine” light, and the transmission switching into limp mode are signs of critical clutch wear or mechatronic failure in the DSG.
