Jerks when shifting — for example, in SsangYong Rexton, after ATF refill, sharp jolts appeared when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear, with metal shavings in the oil, indicating critical wear of components and the valve body.
Gear delays — in warmed-up SsangYong gearboxes (Actyon/Korando), delays are noticeable (e.g. shifting from 1st to 2nd causes high RPM and a “kick”), pointing to valve body faults or sticking valves.
Kicks on cold start — in SsangYong Actyon New (2009–2012), noticeable jolts occur when shifting 2–3 gears on cold start, disappearing after warm-up — a sign of a contaminated valve body requiring repair.
Slipping at start and limp mode — in SsangYong Actyon, the transmission sometimes slips at launch (loss of power) and goes into limp mode (with error codes for 1st/2nd gear), indicating clutch wear or hydraulic problems.
